  • Growing up in the country taught me hard work, saving money, and doing what you love. Working with horses almost every day of my life is great. Yes, some days are harder than others but I still go to bed happy. My parents and my dad’s parents built a house on the back property. We have lived there until his parents died. We all moved up to the main house. I got an office and started helping dad with the horse training business. My dad and his dad were some of the best horse trainers in the world. They have taught a lot of people the trainers way of life. Now I have to keep it going. My siblings don’t want anything to do with the business. They have other businesses with my parents outside this country world. They are city folk. I put a lot of pressure on myself because I want to carry on my family’s businesses in a way that would make them proud.

  • I have always been in the rodeo scene growing up. I was never in the arena. I was behind the scenes making sure everything was running like it was supposed to. My brother Jay was there working with me. Once we hit 18 we were gone from our so called parents. They were drug addicts. Thankfully me and my brother were out of the house when they had their parties. We were sent to relatives house almost every weekend of our high school years. I protected Jay he is only two years younger than me. We started up The Kings after 5 years of working in the rodeo. We got sponsors and made friends along the way. We learned how to train horses but we needed someone who had more more experience. We ended grabbing about 10 acres of land that had a big house, a barn with 8 stables, and tractor. We got to work making it into a place where we could have clients. The Kings got to work.

Our business grew fast. We had to come up with a lot more properties. I started buying from families that had everything ready to go. It might have cost us a little more but our clients sent more to us so it has been a win. We need to make money. I am all about the cash but women want it to. We don’t need no gold diggers. We have had our fill of women but now we need to find someone who isn’t about the money. Who also like horses and can work hard.

    Quotes

“Most women gravitate to me. This will be a challenge I am up for.”

“You are beautiful darlin’, all the time.”

“You are supposed to be healing anyway and not doing anything to that sexy body of yours.”

“It’s going to be hard to work around here and not get sidetracked.”

“One of these days you will let me in. I am here for you beautiful and I wanted you to know I like you.”

  • Growing up I had everything. Prim and proper is how me and my sister grew up. Couldn’t tell how many times I have gotten out of trouble. I should have been in jail in my teens. Don’t let anyone tell you money doesn’t pay for everything. My parents paid off everyone and everything. We come from money from both sides. My parents got us into horses. Honestly I hate the creatures but they do have a lot of potential to make me a lot of money. In that I met a whole different breed of women. They had daddy’s money too but I want women for their bodies and I have to say I used a few in my day. Then I met Terri and her family. Saw how innocent she was and knew I needed to bring horses to her. Good thing she was trained by her friends and family and is one of the best trainers. Now life is grand when they say yes to bring my horses. Will have more money coming. I am extremely greedy.

  • I have been around horses my whole life. Mom wanted me to be prim and proper but dad was having none of that. He didn’t want me being a snot. He wanted me to be in the rodeos. I agreed since we were in the horse business anyway. I remember when I was really young when my mom decided to leave. She never wanted to be in the country and our relationship failed over the years. I was winning in the rodeos anyway. Barrel racing was my forte but I dabbled in other competitions in the rodeo. My dad was also in the rodeo. Later in his career I got to see how great he was. He retired when we went on the road. We met Terri and her family at the rodeo. Being the same age we became best friends. When we were in our teen years the guys gravitated to me and not Terri. She had a few extra pounds on her but her personality shined far greater. The guys always messed with her. I was at her rescue a lot of the time but a couple times she fought back. I had her back if she needed me. Always have been close and will always be. As we got older she was mainly on her parents ranch when dad and I found a ranch not horribly far her and her family. We live our lives separately because we love what we do. Horses are our passion. Neither of us want to leave our homes, which is fine. We always make time for each other. Even if it’s just for a minute.

    Quotes

“Well, if they are staring, then they think you’re hot.”

“Plus, I like different things from different eras. That’s one reason we have become such great friends because we are both weird and we both accept it.”

“I haven’t done anything except maybe got their phone numbers.”

“There are men out there that want to get to know you and will treat you with respect.”

An Excerpt from the Author for You

An Excerpt...

I am not going to lie. While we eat, we have an audience. Yep, you probably guessed it.
The four men at the other table. They are all handsome, all cowboys, all serious. Two of them have to be in their early thirties, and the other in their forties, maybe. I am not great with guessing ages. Anyway, every time Tilly and I laugh, they look over at us, and one gets on his phone a lot.

Yes, I sneak a look every blue moon.

We are almost done, and Tilly smirks, “Something catch your eye over there? At our
table I’m guessing.”

“No nothing, because they just keep staring.”

“Well you are staring to you know, right?”

“Yeah, well, I was looking to make sure they weren’t staring is all.”

Tilly shakes her head and smiles. “Yeah, okay, whatever you say. Are you almost done?
I’m ready to get to the farmers market.” I take another drink of my water and finish my toast, and yes, I finish it all. It is amazing. Tilly is going to pay for breakfast, and I tell her I will buy lunch and she agrees.

Daisy comes up to us and says, “Don’t worry about the money.” Tilly and I both look at
eachother and then back at Daisy. “It’s already been taken care of.” Tilly says, “By who?”
Daisy looks over at the four me and we do as well. They tip their hats and we smile and
not back. What the heck? Who are these guys? Yes, they are nice for buying us breakfast, but I don’t see that happen especially if it’s me. I do have Tilly with though, and she was super famous in the rodeo circuit, so we will just go with that then.

I stand up. “Tilly, you’re famous.”

“No, I am not. I have changed my hair and I am not as glitz and glamour like I used to
be.”

“Well, we are just going to say it’s your fault they bought us breakfast.”

“Well, I think we should go over and say thank you.”

“You go right ahead and say thank you for me too. I will be out at the truck.”

She did go over and say thanks. I don’t mind talking to handsome guys when they are
clients, but when I am in the world away from the ranch, I get a little shy and I guess it’s because I don’t get out much. I get awkward around men or I act like one of the guys because I am surrounded by them at the ranch. I will be single forever. I don’t mind it.

Yeah, it gets lonely sometimes, but I get over it pretty quickly. I have too much work to do anyway. I walk outside and there are two doors, so I walk through one and another cowboy opens the other one. I say thanks and keep on walking. I don’t even make eye contact. I am ready to get out of here. When I get to the truck I turn and see that Tilly is at the door where the cowboy is still holding it for her. I did get a great look at him because he had his back to me, and I was in the back of the parking lot. I will say he has a nice body and he has a nice voice. He said you’re welcome earlier. Let Tilly have fun with the guys. While she is talking I pull out my phone and lean on the truck. A couple minutes later, I hear the truck unlock. Then I put my phone up and I get in the truck, Tilly is walking alone thankfully. She gets in the truck and smiles.

“What did you do?” She smiles even bigger, and I know she has done something with
these guys. Seriously. “I haven’t done anything except maybe got their phone numbers. They might meet up with us at the farmers market.”

I whine at her. “Seriously Til why couldn’t you just have said thank you and be done.”
“Well, I was going too, but they thought we were beautiful, and they are new to town and
was wondering what there was to do around here.” I cut in. “Of course there is stuff to do around here like the farmers market.

Really now I am going to be nervous all day, and they must have been high or drunk if they thought I was beautiful. Can we just go please?” I do a big sigh and look over at my friend who looks mad now.

“Hey, Ter look at me.” I sigh and look. “Ter. You’re beautiful and you need to tell
yourself that every day. I know you have been through situations where you don’t feel it but know that you are. There are men out there that want to get to know you and will treat you with respect.”

“I know it’s just easier to build that wall and keep everyone out. I don’t want to talk about
me anymore. Let’s start up this puppy and let’s ride.” We both laugh and will have a good day regardless. I hope...
